MCU-Miomastic

MCU-Miomastic is a single component, moisture cure polyurea coating that is used:

• as a primer for non-ferrous substrates
• as an intermediate barrier coat, containing micaceous iron oxide (MIO) platelets
• as a non-UV topcoat in both new construction and maintenance projects

MCU-Miomastic has proven outstanding barrier performance when immersed, in splash zones or atmospheric environments. MCU-Miomastic is ideal for use as a tie coat over most existing coatings and can be used in red lead encapsulation systems. MCU-Miomastic is also a standard sealer coat for concrete and is available in light colours to facilitate interior tank inspections. 

• Used as an intermediate/barrier coat over MCU’s universal primers to provide long term protection
• High-solids, aromatic intermediate for atmospheric service
• MCU-Miomastic contains a proprietary blend of moisture curing polyurea resin and MIO and has many application and performance advantages compared to epoxy mastics
• For use on any marine, offshore, hydro, wastewater or other structure exposed to salt or fresh water or sewage treatment
• Readily re-coatable and repairable
• Used as a primer on non-ferrous and concrete surfaces, and indoors as a non-UV topcoat
